Wellow Heritage & Tourism Group

This group was established to provide dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to work in the recent Lottery funded Wellow Heritage Projects. Members of the group carried out a lot of research and produced the many outputs of the project.

They now aim to carry out further research and projects within the village and parish of Wellow.

Using the facilities of the Schoolroom we will also engage guest speakers to educate us in local history.

Our next speakers & Walks:

23rd May 2024 at 7.30pm: Laura Simpson whose talk is entitled 'What is a Witch'

9th July 2024 at 2.00pm: Heritage Walk around the village of Wellow. Meet at the Schoolroom. Approx. 1.5 miles in length.

 

11th July 2024 at 7.30pm: Ted Gray whose talk is entitled 'Two Shires'

7th September 2024 at 12.00noon (part of an Heritage Open Day Event): Denis Hill talking on 'The Dukeries.

7th September 2024 at 1.30pm: Heritage Walk around the village of Wellow. Meet at the Schoolroom. Approx. 1.5 miles in length.
